DOE opened ASEAN Lane for high-skilled workers from ASEAN countries, starting this January

The Department of Employment is opening a special service lane called “ASEAN LANE” to facilitate work permit application of skilled labour in seven professions and 32 positions in the hotel and tourism sector, beginning in January 2015.

Mr. Arak Prommanee, Director-General of the Department of Employment, said, “ As Thailand is approaching ASEAN Community or AC by agreeing to free trade of goods and services which has attracted foreign investors, especially from ASEAN countries, to compete and increase their investment in the country. To prepare for this increased mobility, the Department of Employment which is a government agency with a mission to facilitate the granting of work permit has launched a special service lane or ASEAN LANE for skilled labour from ASEAN member states following the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) in seven professions (engineering, exploration, architecture, medicine, dentistry, nursing, and accounting) and 32 positions in the hotel and tourism sector starting in January 2015 at the Foreign Workers Administration Office, Foreign Skilled Workers Employment System Unit, Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour, Mit Maitri Road, Din Daeng, Bangkok.
